Tips That Made Me A Better Woodcarver

The 2009 GOW (Gathering Of Woodcarvers) held September 28 through October 3, is putting
together a booklet titled “TIPS THAT MADE ME A BETTER WOODCARVER”. We are asking for
everyone to submit their favorite tips. The favorite tip, in each category, will be voted on during GOW
2009. Prizes for the favorite tip will be awarded (need not be present to win). This booklet will not be
for sale. It will only be available to those attending the GOW. If your tip/tips were selected and you are
not able to attend the GOW, we will mail a booklet to you along with your prize if you won in your
category.

If your tip is selected for the GOW Tips Booklet, you will be given a few minutes to present it during
GOW’s Opening Ceremony, or request the MC to present it for you. GOW attendees will vote for their
favorite tip in each of seven categories. The Prizes are cash (thank you sponsors) and gift certificates
from The Woodcraft Shop (thank you Larry (Big Dog) Yudis).

The GOW Opening Ceremony will be held at the Sandwich Fair Grounds (Sandwich Illinois), Monday
September 28, 2009 at 6:30 PM.
Few Rules:

1.        The deadline for GOW receiving your tip is July 1, 2009.  
2.        You may submit as many tips as you want, but they will need to be submitted individually.
3.        Each tip must be no more than 200 words.
4.        If your tip requires photos, you may submit no more than four photos.
5.        Use the on-line form below, or email your tip to jdillett@thecarvingshop.net or mail to

(Joe will send confirmation when he receives your tip. If you have not received confirmation please
resend it.)

When receiving multiple submissions of the same or similar tips, GOW will publish the first one
received. The sooner you submit your tip, the better chance you have of your tip being published. The
GOW staff reserves the right to select which tips to publish, and to edit the tips for publication. We will
publish the winners names. If you have questions, want to be a sponsor or advertise your business in
