What is the GOW? It is a friendly Gathering Of Woodcarvers held every fall, where about 150
people come for the purpose of having fun, learning new things in many classes, promoting
woodcarving, meeting other woodcarvers and did I say having fun?
Where and when is it?

It is with great sadness that I’m announcing we are postponing GOW 2010.
The organizers of the GOW, Joe and Sharon Dillett, Sandie Burgdorf, Susan Alexander, Camper
John Clopton and Bob Mau regret this necessary decision. Circumstances kept piling up, such as
health issues, which indicated it would be best to call it off. We’ve had 9 very successful GOWs
with our organizers making each one better then the last one. This year it wasn’t shaping up to
the level that you’ve come to expect from us so we decided to postpone it. We have always
thought that the GOW belonged to everyone who came. That’s why this decision was so difficult
to make.
We will decide the future of the GOW after things settle down. We will keep you informed. We
hope postponing the GOW has not caused any hardships for those who were planning on
teaching or the students who were looking so forward to learning and building friendships with
others in the carving community. If you know of people who were planning on coming and are not
on these woodcarving email groups, please let them know.
