Marcia Berkall (Mush)
Marcia's obsession with woodcarving began in the late 1980's.  It was while looking through art books at the local library for an adult education drawing class that she came across a book of Henry Moore sculptures and a copy of E. J. Tangerman's Whittling and Woodcarving.  Starting with small figures, Marcia (aka Mush) soon moved on to Santas, wood spirits and one-of-a-kind art pieces.

For the past 15 years, Marcia has been carving full time and teaching carving and drawing in her South China, Maine, studio.  Marcia enjoys teaching and encourages students to express their own visions and ideas in their carvings.  Recently her Carving From the Heart articles have been featured in Carving Magazine.
