I did not camp within the Smoky Mountains park area due to the fact none of the parks campground bathhouses had showers.  I was attending a two day wood carving class in Townsend, TN and did not want to go into class each day smelling like one of the local black bears.

However, I did find a very nice private campground less than a mile from the Cades Cove park entrance.  Little River Village Campground is family owned/operated and very nice.  The campground had one of the nicest bath facilities I have come across.  I was pleased to find a very nice site right on the banks of the Little River that flows down from the Smoky's.

I have a link at the bottom of this page to both the campground and the woodcarving class I attended.
A look at the site from the entrance. Site was up on the banks.  Look at the next picture to see what's at the base.

At the base of the banks was the Little River.
A look from the back of my tent showing more of the Little River. Sitting on the banks of the Little River carving away.
