Tennessee, Alabama &
Mississippi
The Natchez Trace Parkway runs 444 miles from Natchez in southern
Mississippi to a point just south of Nashville, Tenn., cutting across a
corner of Alabama.

The trace was used by early explorers, traders, post riders, and
military men, including General Andrew Jackson after his victory at
the Battle of New Orleans. Farmers would float their produce down the
Mississippi River, sell their flatboats for lumber, then walk home via
the trace.

When you drive the trace, do not speed. The speed limit is 55mph and
it is strickly enforced. If you go 58, you will get a ticket. One of the
main reasons is because of all the wildlife living within the trace
boundries. I have seen over 80 dear, 20 turkeys, rabbits, shunks,
opposums and tons of squirrels.
