| The park is set within 1141 acres in the rolling hills of the Nashville basin along the Duck River in Middle Tennessee. A nice park and very family orientated. The actual campsites are located away from the main park grounds which makes the sites nicely quiet. I stayed at what is called the “primitive sites”, meaning they do not have any electricity or water. But that is fine with me, keeps the large RV’s away. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are many activities to do at Henry Horton. The park has a resturant and hotel on the grounds as well as an 18 hole golf course. A "frisbee" disc golf course is also available. Pinic tables are everywhere and there are very large areas for softball or flying model planes. There are a number of canoe rental companies in the area. I have gone down the Duck River twice and enjoyed both trips. The olympic swimming pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The professional multi-field trap and skeet range is open to the public Wed-Sun, noon until dark. Note: Updated 6 July 2008 I downgraded Henry Horton from four campfires to three since staying in the RV campground. Please click on the rating detail above for more details why I did this. |
