This was my first carving project.  I made an old shoe, or hiking boot. For a first time shot....not to bad.

1. Start with a block with the basic shape cut out.

2. Pencil in the lines for the different parts of the boot.

3. Start carving away the outline.

The finished shoe. I applied a coat of golden pecan stain and a light coat of polyurethane to seal it.
